With sides dropping points around them it's time for RCB to get back to the crease and look to build on their big opening win against the Sunrisers. Captain Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers found some good early form and with Shane Watson and Chris Gayle, this powerful batting line up looks better than ever.
Delhi took their first win after a poor batting performance from Kings XI but this will be a far bigger test of a side who seem set for the bottom half of the table.
You've probably worked the market out for yourselves already: Royal Challengers are very clear favourites for this game at best odds of 1.47 with Boylesports but if you think that the Daredevils can cause an upset, the best price for the visitors is set at 3.00 with Ladbrokes.
That's the biggest margin we've seen so far at this IPL and many are starting to think that this could finally be RCB's year. Batting looks so strong and while the bowling is a little weaker, it doesn't matter too much if your side exceeds 220.
I was pleased to land AB De Villiers as top batsman against SRH but this is a tough one to call. The main four in this market are Kohli, who is the favourite at best odds of 3.50 with Ladbrokes, followed by Gayle at a best price of 3.75 - also with Ladbrokes.
De Villiers looks a pretty decent option once again at his best odds of 4.20 with Paddy Power while Shane Watson offers good value at a top price of 6.00 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power.
There are other choices such as Mandeep Singh at best odds of 9.00 with Skybet but few punters will look beyond those four names.
There is some encouragement for Delhi and the early form of Quinton De Kock is good, with the South African making 59 to take his side home against KXIP. De Kock is favourite to top score for the Daredevils once again at best odds of 3.50 with Boylesports while Shreyas Iyer is quoted at a best price of 5.00 with Paddy Power.
Mayank Agarwal is further back at a top price of 5.50 with Paddy Power and Skybet while JP Duminy should take a profit at some point in this tournament and can be backed at best odds of 7.50 with Paddy Power once again.
There is a little more value in Delhi's top bowler betting where Amit Mishra - who destroyed Kings XI with 4-11 is on offer at a best of 4.50 with Coral. Imran Tahir is the favourite at a top price of 4.00 with Paddy Power and Boylesports but I would favour Mishra, even if the South African leggie were to be included.
Another side option could be to back RCB to hit the most sixes at best odds of 1.57 with Paddy Power. OK, so once again that's not a great figure but it should drop in, even if Delhi won the game and it gives better value than Bangalore's win figure of 1.47.
Alternatively, you can back DD in this market at a top price of 3.40 with Boylesports or the tie at best odds of 9.00 with Boylesports again.
I think that as the tournament progresses, RCB's bowlers will let them down at some point but against Delhi they should get across the line with some comfort. With Watson coming in to the set up, that batting line up is simply awesome and they should be a safe bet to take the points on Sunday.
My Picks:
- Back Royal Challengers Bangalore to win at 1.47 with Boylesports
- Back Quinton De Kock to top score for Delhi Daredevils at 3.50 with Boylesports.
- Back Amit Mishra to return best figures for Delhi Daredevils at 4.50 with Coral.
