Both Force India drivers, Adrian Sutil and Paul Di Resta, finished in the points at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix. Finishing 8th and 6th respectively has put the Indian team twelve points in front of constructor championship rivals Sauber and established Force India in sixth place.

Paul Di Resta has proved himself as one of the stand out rookies this season and had an enticing battle with fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton throughout the race. Hamilton eventually pipped him into fifth place but Di Resta can be proud with a career best sixth place and he is certainly one to watch in the future.

Meanwhile, Adrian Sutil, who has been a loyal servant to the Force India team ever since their incarnation in 2008, drove solidly to land himself in the points for the sixth time this season. Sutil, whose position was damaged by the safety car after Rosberg took the opportunity to overtake him, was forced to drive a resilient race. He was made to drive the final thirty laps on soft tyres without pitting and worked hard to hold off Perez and Massa who pestered him all the way to the line.

After failing to score any points in their first ever Grand Prix season, Force India have gone from strength to strength and posted 68 points last season, finishing 7th in the constructors championship. They are still waiting for a second podium place though, after the Italian Giancarlo Fisichella landed a memorable second place in the European Grand Prix back in 2009.

There would be no more fitting a place for this to happen than at the Indian Grand Prix that takes place at the end of next month. It is the first ever Indian Grand Prix and will take place at the Buddh International Circuit in Uttar Pradesh. Whilst Force India will be very keen to perform at their home venue, Indian fans will be torn between supporting Force India and Indian drivers Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok, both of whom will be aiming to secure their first ever Grand Prix points.

The next race takes place in two weeks time in Japan and both Force India drivers are 500/1 shots with Bet 365 to win the race. Sebastien Vettel, who won in Singapore this weekend and needs to place just tenth in Japan to secure the drivers championship is odds on favourite at 4/5 with Betfred to win in two weeks time.

The betting on the 2012 season has already begun and Vettel is unsurprisingly a heavy favourite at 5/4 with Skybet. Bet 365 have 2009 champion Jenson Button priced at 14/1 to win next year, which seems good value considering that he is currently second in this years championship and is just 15/8 to remain in that position after the final race in Brazil.
