Kedar Jadhav claimed 3 for 29, picking up three important wickets of Tom Latham, Kane Williamson and Corey Anderson. Umesh Yadav claimed 3 for 75, Amit MIshra and Jasprit Bumrah got two wickets each.
Chasing down the total of 286 runs, India lost two wickets for just 42 runs. Rahane was caught in the covers by Santner and Rohit Sharma was given lbw. MS Dhoni pushed himself ahead and came to bat at number 4. Dhoni and Virat Kohli had a match winning 151-run partnership for the third wicket. Dhoni scored 80 runs of 91 balls and becomes the fifth Indian batsman to score over 9000 runs in ODI. Dhoni also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar record of Indian player with most sixes. Kohli played a brilliant knock of 154 runs off 134 balls, his highest score at Mohali cricket ground. Matt Henry was their top bowler who took 2 wickets for 56 runs.
