Madras Racecourse, otherwise known as Guindy Racecourse is located on Guindy Road in Chennai. The nearest train station is called Guindy and is located very near to the course.
Madras Racecourse is the oldest in India, it is over 200 years old, dating back to 1777. There is racing at the course most Wednesdays and Thursdays, however race days are prone to change and so it is worth checking the fixtures list regularly.
Racing occurs through the wintermonths and is highlighted by the Classic Indian Turf Invitational Cup. The Course is often very full and has a lively atmosphere with bars and restaurants available both in the members enclosure as well as the grandstand.
