Defending champs Sunrisers Hyderabad will be taking on Gujarat Lions today at home and both teams have played one game each so far, which Sunrisers won but Gujarat lost. Even though Gujarat have the most explosive batting line up in the tournament, Hyderabad have an extremely balanced side, with high quality players; the team must be really, really good if you can manage to keep a batsman like Kane Williamson out of it!

The Sunrisers have not only a strong batting line up, but also a very strong bowling attack, which has always been known to be able to defend low scores. In the last game, however, they scored 207 batting first which was going to be a huge task to chase against their bowling. Mustafizur Rahman will continue to stay out of the side; he may be available for the next game.
Gujarat made a huge mistake of fielding four foreign batsmen in their last game and I doubt they will ever repeat that again. Expect one batsman to make way for a specialist bowler - Andrew Tye or James Faulkner, and the latter seems more likely as he has played a lot of IPL games in the the past seasons and he is handy with the bat as well.

BATTING ANALYSIS
The Gujarat Lions have the most attacking batting line up with heavy weights like McCullum, Roy, Smith and Finch in the line up. However, going in with all four was complete suicide and they won't repeat that. Expect Roy or Smith (mostly Smith) to make way for Faulkner. However, I won't be looking at any of these heavy weights when selecting my top batsman bet, because there is a certain Dinesh karthik who is in the form of his life at the moment, and we saw another example of that with his 47 int he last game.
As I said earlier, you might have an extremely strong batting order if you can leave someone like Williamson out of your team. After a long quite spell before the IPL and not much of a score in the first game either, David Warner is ready to hit back into form but his price is too short to be top batsman. I'd be tempted to say Yuvraj Singh as well, but history has proved that he tends to be a bit inconsistent across all formats.

Bowling Analysis
The bowling is what lost Gujarat Lions the game in their last outing against KKR - poor, poor bowling, to be honest. Having an all-Indian attack, they will be happy to have someone like Faulkner among them but again, he will only have 4 overs. Even though we saw some really poor bowling, they still have quality in the likes of Praveen Kumar and Kulkarni - the latter has been picking up a lot of wickets in India's domestic ciruit of late.
As for Sunrisers, they say that this is the best bowling attack in the tournament so it becomes tough to choose a top bowler bet, as they have the experience of Ashish Nehra, top bowler of last year Bhuvi as well as the latest addition to their squad - Rashid Khan. I'm gonna have him on my bet slip for sure as he has a lot more to offer the IPL in the coming weeks and I see him taking quite a lot of wickets.
