Football Club of Goa, also known as The Gaurs, is one of the eight franchises that will participate in the third season of the Indian Super League; the team is co-owned by Indian cricketing sensation Virat Kohli!

FC Goa happens to be one of the most consistent teams to have played in the two seasons of the Indian Super League thus far. In the inaugural season, they were knocked out in the semi finals, while they were runners up in ISL 2015. Goa is a state known for it's passion for football and they have seen positive results so far, finishing 2nd and 1st on the points table in the two respective seasons!
The team played a couple of pre-season friendlies against Brazilian clubs Boavista SC and Bangu Atlético Clube. They played out a goalless draw against Boavista and then lost 1-3 to Bangu, followed by a 2-2 draw against Rio Branco AC. India Bet has FC Goa as second favourite at the moment, and they will certainly be your safest bet to win ISL 2016, at odds of 3.1.
Zico has been a brilliant manager for them since the first season, and the team has only lost 9 matches of the total 33 that they have played under him. Last year, they deserved to win the final as they had a lead of 2-1, but conceded a couple of goals in the dying minutes and lost 3-2. This year, they will want to go a step ahead and lift the trophy!
38-year old Brazilian star who has played in three World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010) for his country, Lúcio, will be their marquee player and he will be an important member of the squad. He has made 14 past appearances and his experience and aerial ability will come into play this season. Their first game of the season - North East United FC v FC Goa at 19:00 IST on 4th October!
