NorthEast United FC is a Assam based Indian Super League football franchise. It represent 8 states of North East India which includes Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Mizoram. India's former model, producer and actor John Abraham owns the team.

Very disappointing start for NorthEast United FC in the first season, where they settled at the bottom of the League table. In the second season, they signed the Argentine striker Nicolás Vélez, who scored 5 goals for his team. Just short of two points to reach top four, they ended on 5th position on league table.This year NorthEast United FC signed Brazilian Sergio Farias as their Head Coach. However, Farias joined his former club leaving NEUFC to appoint Nelo Vingada as the new coach for the team.
NorthEast FC had a great preseason practice in Dubai. This side has great young Indian talented players who will be performing this season. Subrata Pal, 29 years old Goalkeeper will be the player on which the team would rely most. Subrata Pal was awarded Arjuna award and was nominated for Times of India Sports Award along with Sunil Chhetri, Syed Nabi, Bala Devi and others.
"Yes, I scored five goals last season but I think I can score more this season" said Nicolás Vélez. He has been working hard in his training session under experienced Portuguese Nelo Vingada, their head coach. Didier Zokora, Ivorian professional footballer will strengthen their defense. Looking at the squad, NorthEast FC looks a pretty composed and experienced team and we hope that they perform better this season. Their first game of the season - North East United FC v Kerala Blasters FC at 19:00 IST on 1st October!
